When I met Omar, my cousin, it was as if we’d known each other for years…. though we had not seen each other since we were both 4 or 5 years old!

Omar took us out to the mountains and we spent the day sigh seeing, laughing, meditating and being with each other.

When we got off the plane from jamaica, Moses got a message that one of our workshops had been cancelled. So we said: O”Let’s create”

I really wanted to visit my uncle in West Virginia. His, son, my cousin, was someone I had never known and I was excited to know my family.

Moses looked up yoga studios in West Virginia and found the Folded Leaf. We called them and thankfully, they were open to creating workshops for the following weekend! So it was done.. we were going to West Virginia!

When we arrived, we parked the bus and we wanted to walk around to check out the scene and almost immediately ran into Megan, the co-owner at the Folded Leaf. AMAZING. We had the most delicious dinner at the BluegrassKitchen.

We met Michelle at Cleveland Yoga and she invited us to her studio the next day.

Despite going to the wrong studio at first and arriving way late for her class, we still made it. And we were so happy that we did. One Tree Yoga is located in the coolest building that used to be a school… it was pretty groovy to walk in there.. took us back to our elementary school days, you know?

After a sweet class, Michelle led the most beautiful meditation.

I don't know what could be cuter?..

And we are back at the office... the local Starbucks, of course.

My Jamaican accent lingered on 3 or 4 days after we got back from Jamaica. “Moses, let’s pick up some more WATA, k?” “Ya MON!”… it feels so natural!

We were greeted so warmly at Cleveland Yoga. This was the biggest yoga studio we had ever been to AND one of the most intimate! They have 65 classes a week of hot steaming yoga… yum!

I enjoyed an amazing class with Tami… it felt good to be in the hot room. I was also so fortunate to practice the enxt morning with a group of beautiful yoginis who were practicing the primary series. I was really missing my morning Mysore practice and this was as close as I was getting! It was such beautiful energy and an amazing way to start the day!

And yes, SHAQ, the basketball player dropped in for a hot yoga class. He needed two yoga mats and two yogi toes…. and yes I took a picture of him even though Moses said not to!!

Special thanks to Tami and the whole crew at Cleveland Yoga.. we REALLY FELT THE LOOOVE! Tami let us sleep at the studio… how cool was that? Thank you Lisa for being there in the morning.. you are a pocket full o’ sunshine girl!!

We were so blessed to find a BEAUTIFUL family to take care of our little Osho as we hopped over to the Baltimore Airport… on our way to Jamaica MON!

Zeina insisted on going to Target before departing… a new bathing suit was an essential part of this trip. However, when we got to Kingston, we quickly realized we were no where near the beach… but in the middle of the city….

After settling into the serenity of the Mayfair Hotel, off the beat and path of the hustle and bustle of the city… we took off for our adventure. Our first angel presented himself as we were leaving. Dominic, a bright and magical young man took us around town… gave us the city tour and go us situated. Dominic later met up with us at the Shakti Fest- he came with his mom and came to his first yoga classes (he did 3 classes!!)

We got to FEAST the jamaican way at two very special homes… Henrietta’s family opened their lovely doors to all the presenters on Thursday night and Bruce’s home was the stop on Friday. The food was UNBELIEVABLE… fresh, delicious, conscious….. yummmy MON!

Special thanks to Sharon and the whole Shakti team for an unbelivable welcome. The event was so well planned and the smiles everywhere were such a nice sprinkle to the scene.

Yoga, spinning and fitness came together in 4 different tents… yoga was steaming hot with people bathing in sweat and love and music and juiciness. The spinning tent was filled with power and inspiration and passion. Pool side talks were so inspiring and fruitful!

Oh yes and special thanks to beautfiul Jennifer for taking care of the presenters… you are a gem girlfriend.

We started feeling a little delirious after some driving in the city….. driving ourselves to the nearest camping ground was medicine… a blessing….

As soon as the bus drove into the campgrounds, we felt an immediate release… a surrender to nature… the sounds… the smells…. the feeeeeeeeeling of being in nature simply took over.

We bought some fire wood, smores supply and parked ourselves in the woods.

Thank God for the beauty of nature.

Our final class before leaving Virginia Beach, this was another impromptu, last minute gig…. free flying class for all at Peace, Love & Balance (www.peacelovebalance.com)!
